Kimpton And Starwood Hotels Open; Princess Diana Package Sparkles; With Love Deals Start At $77

Just in time for tons of fun events, exhibitions and holiday happenings this fall and winter, Philadelphia’s hotel industry is turning it up a notch with two stylish new hotels and hotel packages for travelers of all interests. A Starwood and a Kimpton add to the region’s modern and diverse hotel scene, and with valuable offers like the Play & Stay Hotel Package, the Diana: A Celebration Hotel Package and 80 others on gophila.com/withlove, there’s a great deal for every discerning hotel guest. Here are some current and upcoming hotel highlights:

Openings:

  • Kimpton made its Philadelphia debut on October 15 with the Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, a 24-story property housed in the 80-year-old American Institute of Architects building. Themed “Art in Motion,” the Art Deco building’s interior design pays homage to fashion, dance, literature, architecture and the visual arts—as evidenced by the original artwork on display by local Philadelphia and national artists. What’s more, Hotel Palomar delivers a stylish and modern design while preserving many of the building’s historic details. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) has recognized the hotel for its design innovation and its unique sustainable building site. 117 S. 17th Street, (215) 563-5006, hotelpalomar-philadelphia.com
  • Le Méridien Philadelphia, situated in a 10-story Georgian revival-building that was once the site of a YMCA, features 202 guestrooms decorated in bold black-and-white décor with red accents. Opening in early 2010 just one block from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the modern yet elegant hotel boasts some iconic views—Love Park, William Penn-topped City Hall and the city’s distinct skyline. 1421 Arch Street, (215) 422-8200, starwoodhotels.com
