Philadelphia Hotels Giving Out More Than $10,000 In Free Gifts
100 Lucky Philly Overnight® Hotel Package Buyers To Receive iPod Shuffle, Tiffany & Co. Gift Card, Southwest Airlines Tickets, Lagos Jewelry And Other Gifts
This week the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) kicked off its “Philly Guest of the Day” promotion, a brand-new element of the 10-week, recession-inspired Love campaign. Over the next five weeks, 100 travelers who redeem a Philly Overnight® Hotel Package before March 16, 2009 will be named “Philly Guest of the Day.” These randomly chosen visitors will receive top-notch prizes, including Southwest Airlines tickets and gift certificates for attractions, restaurants and shops like Tiffany & Co., Le Bec-Fin, Positano Coast, The Wilma Theater and others. Additionally, the guests will receive a hotel gift, such as a room upgrade or room service.
The Love campaign debuted on January 15, 2009 and promotes the popular Philly Overnight® Hotel Package, which this February reaches an incredible milestone: 100,000 packages sold, $20 million in hotel revenue since 2001 and countless vacation memories. According to Tourism Economics, this revenue has generated $68 million in economic impact and $7.5 million in state and local taxes.
“GPTMC decided to celebrate this important occasion by rewarding the people who love the Philly Overnight® Hotel Package,” explained Meryl Levitz, president and CEO of GPTMC.
Here are a few examples of the 100 “Philly Guest of the Day” gifts:
- iPod Shuffle and $10 iTunes gift card
- Two Southwest Airlines tickets
- Four tickets to Please Touch Museum® and a children’s party pack
- Lagos key necklace
- Two tickets to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and breakfast for two at Nineteen (XIX) at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue
