  • Franklin SquareBon Appétit’s 2005 Restaurateur of the Year Stephen Starr is setting up shop at the new burger shack in historic Franklin Square where families can enjoy a snack or light dinner before teeing-up for a twilight game of Philly Mini Golf. The 18-hole mini-course is highlighted with miniature versions of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Independence Hall and other iconic city landmarks. Kids can also hop aboard the old-fashioned Philadelphia Park Liberty Carousel or romp in the award-winning play area, dubbed one of the nation’s top 10 by Dream On Travel. $2-$8. 6th & Race Streets, (215) 629-4026, historicphiladelphia.org

The PECO Multicultural Series celebrates the ethnic heritages—from Indian to Portuguese to Russian—that make Philadelphia unique. What’s more, families can nibble on popcorn while watching all-ages flicks during the Screenings Under the Stars film series. And evening concerts appeal to all musical tastes, while special holiday festivals feature fireworks and all-ages activities. Free.
