GPTMC’s gophila.com Generated $5.5 Million In Hotel Revenue Thanks To Travelocity Partnership

New More User-friendly Booking Engine Debuts To Kick Off Third Year Of Partnership

The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation’s (GPTMC) gophila.com and Travelocity are celebrating a two-year partnership that has generated more than 17,000 reservations, 28,600 room nights and $5.5 million in room revenue. The third year of the partnership marks the debut of a new look and new technology that makes the booking engine on the region’s official tourism Web site even more user friendly with easier-to-view hotel results; more photos, videos and interactive maps; and fewer clicks for hotel reservation completion.

What’s more, the partnership with Travelocity enables GPTMC to have more than 20 booking tools strategically placed throughout gophila.com, showing visitors that there’s so much to do in Philadelphia that they need to spend a couple of nights or more to complete their itineraries. Whether a potential visitor is interested in the Cézanne exhibition, Sunoco Welcome America! or family-friendly happenings, to name just a few examples, they’ll have the opportunity to book a hotel package at many points throughout the site. And each hotel room sale is tracked to measure the success of GPTMC’s tourism marketing campaigns. GPTMC also provides hotel-booking capabilities to several tourism industry partners, including the City of Philadelphia, the Multicultural Affairs Congress, Ride the Ducks, the Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch Museum®, Adventure Aquarium and city-run races.

The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) makes Philadelphia and The Countryside® a premier destination through marketing and image building that increases business and promotes the region’s vitality.
