A Taste Of Philadelphia Brings Gastronomical Goodies To The Great Plaza At Penn's Landing

Philly Restaurants Featured At Sunoco Welcome America!’s Fourth Of July Celebration

Some of the city’s best chefs are bringing their culinary talents to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street, for A Taste of Philadelphia, an opportunity to feast on fine cuisine at fast food prices. The event, a joint production of Sunoco Welcome America! and the Penn’s Landing Corporation, will take place on July 5, 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., and July 6, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., as part of Philadelphia’s nine-day Fourth of July festival.

For two days, hungry gourmands can throw caloric caution to the winds and sample upscale entrees from some of the city’s finest restaurants for $5 or less for each sampling. Because the event has grown in size and popularity, this year it is moving to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing to allow more visitors to discover more great Philadelphia restaurants.

In addition to ethnic specialties, Asian fusion, Southern cuisine and other delights that have earned Philadelphia a reputation as a great restaurant city, A Taste of Philadelphia will serve up traditional Fourth of July staples, including burgers and Philly cheesesteaks. And it all happens with a backdrop of lively music and entertainment taking place throughout the day. Diners who attend A Taste of Philadelphia on Saturday, July 5 will want to stick around for the Waterfront Concert & Fireworks Show featuring Boyz II Men and a light-up-the-sky display of brilliant pyrotechnics.
