The Roots Picnic
Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson and Kirk “Captain Kirk” Douglas of the pioneering hip-hop group The Roots wow the crowd during the annual Roots Picnic, a day-long concert at Penn’s Landing. The 2009 show also featured Philly’s own Santigold, Writtenhouse, Back to Basics, TV on the Radio, The Black Keys, Public Enemy and others.
