Benjamin Franklin Memorial, The Franklin Institute
The heroic, 30-foot statue of Benjamin Franklin presides over the octagonal Benjamin Franklin Memorial Chamber, which was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, at his namesake institute in Philadelphia. The Franklin Institute is the oldest organization in the United States devoted to the study and promotion of mechanical arts and applied sciences.
